English and Maths are taught in line with the National Curriculum as discrete subjects but are also embedded in other subjects across the school day.

Reading – we use a colour banded scheme which includes resources from a variety of reading schemes including Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star and Ginn. Phonics is taught in FS/KS1 through Read Write Inc. Guided reading in KS2 uses Pearson Bug Club.

Writing is a particular focus and is taught through an approach that includes the development of spelling, grammar and creative skills. Spelling is taught through the Read Write Inc scheme.

Maths, our focus is calculations, number lines and mental maths. We use White Rose Maths scheme of work and workbooks.
