The Governing Body has three core functions:
Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and direction
Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance of staff
Overseeing financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent
Our Governing Body consists of:
1 Local Authority Governor
2 Parent Governors
7 Foundation Governors (incl 1 Ex-Officio)
1 Staff Governor
1 Headteacher (Ex-Officio))
We currently have 1 parent governor vacancy and 2 Foundation governor vacancies. Please contact our Governance Professional, kellie.fricker@blackford.cumbria.sch.uk if you are interested in becoming a governor.
The Full Governing Body meet termly and the Resources Committee and Curriculum Committee (including Safeguarding) meet half termly.
Each committee has a clerk and a chair. The headteacher sits on both committees.
